Inspecting Your Ladders: Who We Are and Why Use Our Service?
We are an established UK manufacturer of high-quality ladders, steps, and work platforms. For over 30 years, we have designed and manufactured a comprehensive product range, alongside bespoke access solutions tailored to specific operational needs.
With decades of practical industry knowledge, we provide professional inspection support to help businesses keep access equipment safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Legal Duty and Compliance
It is a legal duty to ensure ladders are suitable and safe for work, and that inspections are carried out as required. In addition to routine pre-use checks, ladders require more detailed periodic examination.
Under PUWER regulations, ladders are classed as work equipment and should have an up-to-date record of detailed visual inspections completed regularly by a competent person.
This means equipment used at work must be:
- Suitable for intended use
- Safe for use
- Maintained in a safe condition
- Inspected to confirm correct installation and continued safe condition over time
How to Request a Quotation
To provide a quotation, we ask you to send:
- A list of items requiring inspection
- Clear images of the equipment
For larger equipment fleets, we recommend gathering items in one central location where possible to improve inspection efficiency.

What We Provide
Our team attends site, carries out an initial appraisal, and identifies all items requiring detailed inspection and tagging.
Each item is then thoroughly examined. Example inspection checks include:
- General condition: clean, dry, and free from paint, oil, mud, or contamination
- Evidence of compliance with a recognised workplace product standard
- Structural condition, including cracks, dents, and deformation
- Security and integrity of rungs/treads
- Any damage that could affect structural integrity
- Security of guide brackets, locking catches, and retaining mechanisms
- Condition of foot pads and contact surfaces
A full written report is provided in electronic PDF format, including observations and any relevant recommendations.
Recommended Detailed Inspection Frequency
Inspection frequency depends on level of use. The following is our standard recommendation, subject to review for onerous environments where more frequent checks may be needed:
- Daily use: every month
- Weekly use: every 3 months
- Monthly use: every 12 months
We will automatically contact you when your next inspection is due.
